Hello everybody! My name’s Nancy

High School Life

Posted by Nancy on February 10, 2008

GAAAAHH! How is high school? Hard!  We get too much homework and have 6 sessions a day here at Tempe! Nah! Jokes. lol.  High School isn’t bad! It is quite fun actually, yes we get lots of homework, but it will only take alot of time if you leave it all till the last second (and that is why I’m having troubles at the moment.).  The uniform is really expensive, I have to wear the same thing two/three days in a row.

We get six different sessions a day at Tempe, but it’s ok. It’s not too difficult, once you work out where we go, you don’t have to worry too much about getting lost!

English here is fine. The teacher isn’t too strict, we have DEAR (drop everything and read) and have to summaries, thoughts and predictions afterwards. Public Speaking is also very important, (Debators, you probably have a little of a head start!) so lots of people try to volunteer to read thier work out.

P.E is not too bad. It’s really like what we have. “Me, myself and I” is what I’m currently doing in class. It’s about self changes, what affects* what we become and such.

For L.O.T.E, year 7s can’t choose the language we wan’t to learn yet, so I’m learning Vietnamese, what my teacher speaks.

Science is fun! Practical lessons are even funner! We have to follow laboratory rules. Heres a tip: Don’t use or throw liquid paper. 1. It makes your work less neat and 2. Once, (in another high school my science teacher was teaching) someone threw liquid paper at another and it went in his eye.. he went blind. So far, I’ve learn how to light a Bunsen burner (you will know what it is in high school), about two types of flame (yellow flame is safe and blue flames are dangerous - in fact, don’t play with the yellow flame either) , what scientists do and Observing a wax candle (a little boring)

During the music classes, I’m learning about instruments in the orchestra, we get to play the instruments around (like the piano, guitars, xylophones, vibraphones, drums, cello, and such).

Maths - I love maths (more like the lessons than the subject). Our teacher is really funny! He’s possible a comedian before he is a teacher *hmm*. It’s definetly great!

Well, sports is ok I guess… that is because I haven’t done any yet! Tuesday is the sports day at T.H.S and it was raining! Well, we watched the simpson movie in the hall.. it was a little boring (because I’ve watched it before). Hmm.. I have tryouts on Tuesday… Softball. The yr 7 girls only got softball and Oz Tag.

Well.. thats so for the lessons…  I still have homework :-(

I miss everyone so much! I miss  being a primary school person! I miss my old (err, how OLD is the school?) school. I miss my old (still young!) friends. I miss my old (not that old) teachers… I am currently uh… Primary school sick? (is that what you call someone who is like - homesick?)

Ok.. I’m now really, really, really, really, really, reeeeaaallllyyyyy tired. I’ve got to go to sleep. (I wake up at around 7am!) I have to catch the train to T.H.S so.. good night everybody ^.~

Death at the Disco!!! ( The fictional story by Nancy)

Posted by Nancy on November 26, 2007

11 year old student, Nancy He was murdered at the school disco.

 Suspects:

 A- Emily from s23P

  B-Sarah from S23P

C-Marcella from S3G

 D-Carmen from S3G

 E-Gloria from S23P

———————-

-SUSPECT A

Inspector: Suspect A, Where were you when
Nancy got murdered?

Emily: I was sitting on the Assembly stage watching everyone dance and go crazy.

Inspector: Can anyone confirm that?

Emily: Yes! I have an eye witness… Celia from S23P!! She was at the disco! She was watching me while I was near the DJ!!!

** It was then proven that Emily was innocent, due to the fact that she had been sitting the whole time at the disco.

SUSPECT B

Inspector: Where were you when
Nancy was murdered?

Sarah: With Marcella. We were talking near the DJ. Emily was there.

Inspector: Any Proof?

Sarah: I was sitting on the stage. The DJ was goofing around and we had to take over.

**Sarah along with Marcella and Carmen were also just sitting and taking over the DJ.

SUSPECT E

 Inspector: Where were you when
Nancy got murdered?

Gloria: I was with my friend. Hey, why are you questioning me for? I wasn’t near
Nancy and I was hangin’ around.

** This happened to be true. Not only her friends can confirm her story but the people around her. Suspect A, B, C, and D also stated that she wasn’t anywhere near
Nancy.

So, who is the murderer? How was
Nancy killed (she was proven to be perfectly healthy, apart from the fact that she is dead.)? Why was she killed? Was it Suicide?

Stay tuned for more — Tales of terror!!!!!!  (actually, the end. I was too lazy to think of an explanation)

Did you know it cost $220 ??!!

Posted by Nancy on November 9, 2007

Expensive, isn’t it? But, what is IT?? Well, IT is the greatest thing to happen to the stage 3 students and IT is sooooo great it cost THAT 220 Australian dollars… IT is stage 3 camp!!! We stay at camp for 3 days and two nights, yes!, three days of nothing but fun!! We had archery - shooting targets with a bow and arrow, River ride - having a speed-boat ride and looking around, Pool rafting - building a little raft in the pools and having a race, Canoeing - go canoeing (obviously), indoors rock climbing - climbing little boulders on a wall, Christian discovery - learning about God, and the best of all - The water-slide!!!

We had 4 instructors telling us what to do, Earl, Tim, Rachelle and Angelo. Earl and Tim keeps on getting into fights (not personal ones though) and are full of jokes.  The worst part of camp is when we are leaving :-(   . The bus trip back wasn’t much fun, we got to listen to the radio (2day FM ) and I fell asleep. I miss camp sooooo much :’-(

Mission Maker Story (modified)

Posted by Nancy on October 19, 2007

Ok, I have to create a new story. The last one I made might not have been good enough to make a picture of the game in your mind. Now, this NEW one is going to be improved… well,  here it goes…

_____________________

It was once said that 5 of the most valuable, powerful but dangerous items ,which had belonged to the greek gods, were stolen by a mysterious and unknown spy. Professor .D. Henzo, half genius achaeologist, brave and valiant, sets out on instinct to retrieve the artefacts before it gets into the wrong hands to cause major havoc. However the enchanted equiptments were guarded by spells and weapons. The journey would not be safe…..

_____________________

Well thats it… What do YOU think?? Is it any different from my old one? How can I improve it –”?

MissionMaker plan

Posted by Nancy on September 24, 2007

For the MissionMaker game I’m going to have an underground cave. There will only be 3 objects/artefacts you would need to collect there. Each object would be protected by an enchantment and you would need to find a/some key/s or a/some object/s (most likely from ancient
Greece) to be able to break the enchantment. Apart from enchantments, there will also be traps guarding the “powerful” artefacts and traps guarding the keys as well.

There will be clues and they are going to be in riddle form – at least I’ll try to make them in riddle form. The clues will be written on pieces of papers either be lying on the ground, in a treasure chest or somewhere else.

You would mainly be walking around in the tunnels and if you are lucky enough not to get lost, you might be able to get to a room or even get out of the cave.  Some rooms will be trap rooms which when you go in, the door closes and you would have to get to the “other side” of the room to get out. P.S you would need to get through all the obstacles first.

If you get outside the cave, there is going to be another place (with water because you would need to go under water) I’ll try to add some power-ups like first-aids or speed but I can’t really see if that is necessary, the first-aids will help you health (it goes in health form) but the speed might be a bit useless. If you are underwater, you will find oxygen packs because you can only hold your breath for 30 seconds. (Don’t worry – there will be a timer so you don’t have to constantly keep glancing at the clock)You can win the game by just getting all five artefacts (and some money and treasure). Once you even TOUCH the last object, the game is over.

Mission Maker story.

Posted by Nancy on September 24, 2007

5 of the Greek god’s artefacts were stolen. It was supposed to be Zeus’s job to find them but he is too busy flirting. He has sent you to do his job for him and since he is a god, there isn’t much choice (is there?).It seems that the thief has set clues for him/her self to pay future visits and luckily, by all those clues, the thief is confirmed human. You were given a sack which could fit many heavy items in it but still keep it’s weight very minimum.  There will be future clues for you to collect and please keep Zeus’s secret business away from Hera (If she found out, he would be BIG trouble—*thunder storm*).

The Withering Flower

Posted by Nancy on August 3, 2007

dsc03172.JPG

This winter holiday was FREEZING. The icy wind stung every uncovered particle of skin and it was even snowing!! The confused weather man quitted, but no-one really liked him.

Kids, even teenagers and adults everywhere were snow-fighting, skiing and doing all sorts of snow activities.I was making snowmen, a whole family of them. I just loved making snowmen, and found it super easy. It was getting darker and darker, but I didn’t notice. Soon, I was the only kid left.

Instead of making a simple family, I made a large crowd of snow-People. Once I got off from snow-man planet, I started making my way home. I knew loads of short-cuts, but the shortest one had a lot of trees in the way. I was trying to think of a good excuse for my lateness when I saw a beautiful, glowing silver light which wiped my mind blank. I blinked. It was gone, I thought I was hallucinating but the next second, it flashed again. I thought it was just a lost flash-light, but the light was so bright and … graceful. I just had to go near it.

The light was glowing on a very low and leafless branch. All that light had come from a small, winged creature. It was about ten centimetres high and looked really fragile. The creature saw me, alerted it drew a tiny and silver stick and raised it like a sword. Then, the icy wind blew and it fell unconscious on the branch. The light was fading away from it. It was dying, dying from the cold and snow. I had to save it. I carefully lifted it up and lay it gently in my hand. It was as cold as ice.

I started racing home as soon as possible. I tried warming it up, putting it near the heater and trying to keep it as warm as possible. My mum was next to me, confused, she asked, “What are you doing?” I stared at her. -“Can’t you see it?”  - “hmm? See what?”    I couldn’t believe it, my mum can’t see it. Was I imagining things? It seemed so real, and I could even feel it. I went towards my room, holding the strange creature in my hand, and covered it up. I went to dinner, trying to pinch a few pieces for that creature in case it was hungry. I went back to my room, but it was gone, the window was slightly opened. I left the food on the table and went to sleep. Thus, I never saw it again.

Samarost - First Impression

Posted by Nancy on June 8, 2007

 samostart.jpg  best_samorost.jpg  artgames_samoro_051212.jpg

Samarost was a really great game, though, it was pretty complicated and smart. I can tell you, if the class wasn’t working together, it would probably take us half a day to finish the game!

Samarost mostly uses brain power. At first, I thought it was a shooting game,it looked as if that “huge space ship” shot an orange laser, then the “guy in pyjamas” flew to the space ship. I was wrong. I just makes you think of what happens next.

The space ship was not what we think, for example, the key to the power supply was also a smoking rod and the trees had buttons.

The effects were arelly amazing. The background music was really mysterious. Although (even if I didn’t notice earlier) the music might’ve been there to help us think because it was calm, slow and soft. Plus the presentation made it look cool.

How-ever, the game didn’t have any instructions, abd didn’t give us much clues. The hands showed up, we thought it might’ve meant something.

Try the game, it is really fun. Try it out yourself!  i_sm_webwatch_36_samarost.gif
